Lindsey Richelle Daleske, a 41-year-old woman from McCallsburg, Iowa, was killed Friday afternoon, November 6, 2026, after a head-on collision involving a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old in Marshall County. The crash happened around 4:07 p.m. at the intersection of Eastman Avenue and 190th Street, near State Center. What began as an ordinary afternoon ended with a family losing someone they loved.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Daleske was driving northbound in a 2018 Kia Optima when a southbound 2013 Kia Sorento approached the same stretch of road. The Sorento was being driven by a 15-year-old juvenile who attempted to pass other vehicles in a designated no-passing zone.

The passing attempt ended in a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The impact left both drivers seriously affected, and emergency crews were called to the scene.
Daleske and the teenage driver were transported by UnityPoint EMS to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save her, Daleske was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 15-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries and was also taken for medical treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the collision have drawn attention to the danger of attempting to overtake other vehicles where passing is prohibited. A decision made on the road can have consequences that extend far beyond the people behind the wheel.
Several emergency agencies responded to assist. They included State Center police, State Center Fire and EMS, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, UnityPoint EMS and the Marshalltown Fire Department.
Daleske was 41. Her death leaves loved ones facing a painful loss, and the sudden nature of the crash makes the news even harder to take. There is no easy way for a family to prepare for a phone call or hospital visit that ends with such devastating news.
For those who knew Lindsey, the days ahead will be about remembering the person behind the name and holding on to the moments they shared with her. She was a daughter, a relative, a friend and someone whose absence will be felt by people who cared about her.
May Lindsey Richelle Daleske rest in peace, and may her family and friends find comfort as they mourn her loss.
