A Sebring, Florida, family is mourning the sudden loss of Shelley Glisson, a devoted wife and mother of seven who died in a fatal car crash on Monday, November 2. Her unexpected death has left her husband, seven children and loved ones facing a painful loss that has shaken their family and community.
The crash happened around 8:07 a.m. on U.S. Highway 27, north of Twitty Road in Sebring, according to reports citing the Florida Highway Patrol. Glisson, who lived in the Sebring area, was among those involved in the collision.

According to preliminary information from the Florida Highway Patrol, Glisson was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius southbound when the vehicle crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes. The car then collided with a 2018 Jeep driven by a 53-year-old woman from Lake Placid.
Glisson was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jeep’s driver suffered injuries that were described as non-incapacitating. Authorities have not announced what caused Glisson’s vehicle to cross the median, and the crash remains under investigation.
Beyond the circumstances of the crash, the loss has left seven children without their mother. Glisson’s family is now facing life without someone who played a central role in their home and daily lives.
A GoFundMe fundraiser organized by Amy Zwayer has been launched to help the family cope with the financial challenges that come with her death. The fundraiser describes Shelley as a devoted wife and mother whose love reached far beyond her immediate family.
The organizer also remembered her as someone who loved others deeply and made a lasting difference in the lives of people around her. She described Shelley’s love as an outpouring of the love the Lord had placed in her heart.
The fundraiser is intended to help cover the family’s everyday living expenses as they begin adjusting to life without her. Friends, relatives and other members of the community are being encouraged to contribute and share the appeal.
For Shelley’s husband and children, the days ahead will bring a difficult adjustment. The loss of a mother reaches into every part of family life, from the smallest daily routines to the moments they once expected to share together.
As the family grieves, those who knew Shelley are being asked to keep her husband and seven children in their thoughts and prayers.
