A 25-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash in Salisbury, Maryland, three days after a collision involving a minivan left him critically injured. Dylan Luffman was taken to the hospital following the October 30 crash but died on November 2, according to police.

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. Friday near East Salisbury Parkway (Route 50) and the crossover leading to southbound Route 13. What began as an early-morning drive ended in a devastating collision that would later claim Luffman’s life.

According to the Salisbury Police Department, Luffman was riding a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle eastbound on Route 50 when it collided with a 2011 Honda Odyssey. The Honda was traveling southbound through the crossover and attempting to enter southbound Route 13 when the vehicles struck each other.

Officers who arrived at the scene found both vehicles with significant damage. Emergency responders were called in to assist, and Salisbury EMS rushed Luffman to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment of his injuries.

Luffman remained hospitalized for three days as medical personnel worked to treat the injuries he sustained in the collision. Despite those efforts, he died at the hospital on Monday, November 2. He was 25.

His death has turned what was already a serious traffic collision into a fatal crash investigation. A young man who had been taken to the hospital with critical injuries never made it home.
