A 28-year-old Norfolk man was killed Monday afternoon after his motorcycle slammed into the back of an SUV on Interstate 64 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Emmanuel Isaiah Davidson died following the collision, which happened as traffic slowed near the Battlefield Boulevard exit. His sudden death has left his family and loved ones facing the loss of a young man whose life ended far too soon.
According to Virginia State Police, the crash happened around 3:24 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2026, on eastbound I-64 near Battlefield Boulevard, Exit 290A. Investigators said traffic was congested at the time, forcing vehicles to slow down along the highway.

A Toyota RAV4 was reportedly slowing with the traffic when Davidson’s motorcycle approached from behind and struck the rear of the SUV. The impact proved fatal for the 28-year-old motorcyclist.
Davidson suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and authorities confirmed his death. His next of kin have since been notified. The driver of the Toyota RAV4, identified only as an adult male, was not injured.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not released further details about what happened immediately before the motorcycle struck the SUV.
For Davidson’s family and friends, the loss goes beyond the details of a traffic accident. At 28, he still had much of his life ahead of him. His death means those who knew him must now face the difficult reality of his absence.
The crash also serves as a reminder of how quickly conditions on a busy highway can change. Traffic can slow without much warning, leaving drivers and motorcyclists with little time to react. In this case, the collision took the life of a young Norfolk resident.
As Virginia State Police continue their investigation, Davidson’s family and loved ones are left mourning a loss that came without warning. He was just 28 years old, and his life ended in a crash that has forever changed the lives of those closest to him.
